Central Michigan University Research Corp. will host a summit Feb. 7 for business leaders, state regulators and legal experts on the use of advanced analytics techniques in meeting state and federal regulations.
The summit, "Regulatory Policy and Management: Using Advanced Analytics to Improve Compliance," will be held in The Lansing Center, located at 333 E. Michigan Ave. The daylong event, which is co-sponsored by IBM, SAS and ESRI, begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Recognized analytics experts, legal experts and regulators from the State of Michigan, the Federal Reserve Bank, IBM, Consumer's Energy and others will present case studies and discuss strategies to control risk and maintain compliance. One component of the summit will aid leaders in complying with state and federal regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the Tread Act.
This event is organized by the business intelligence and advanced analytics team at CMU-RC, who work with large companies and organizations to provide opportunities to explore how advanced analytics can solve urgent business needs, such as predicting future trends, reducing costs, increasing market share and streamlining operations.
Other topics will include how to use geographic information systems to maintain compliance, how analytics can help control operational risk, how regulators view analytics when measuring compliance, and what information technology tools are needed to implement and maintain effective analytics.
To request an invitation to this event, please contact Tracy Irwin Hewitt at 734-837-0279.
