Upcoming CMU events: April 14 through 20, 2008

The work of Mount Pleasant artist Shelley Newman Stevens is on display in Park Library's Baber Room through May 11 in " THE SEEN AND THE UNSEEN An Imagined Reality." She creates large-scale, dramatic, lifelike figures in a visual representation of the battle between who we are and how we wish to be perceived. Shown here is "Siren Song," part of a series focusing on the mask as a metaphor for the facade we construct to reveal or conceal only certain aspects of ourselves.
