CMU journalism prof predicts Murdoch 'will dump The Wall Street Journal in a few years, just like he dumped DirecTV'
Rupert Murdoch-led News Corp. has purchased Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones in a transaction valued at $5.6 billion. According to a statement released by Dow Jones, the purchase agreement also calls for "an editorial agreement that provides for the establishment of a five-member, special committee with the objective of assuring the continued journalistic and editorial integrity and independence of Dow Jones' publications and services." Central Michigan University journalism professor John K. Hartman is available to comment on the merger and its potential implications. Read the Story
